Poor taste/NY Post.

Yeah, yeah, it's the Post - you sort of expect it. But today's cover was beyond the pale, IMHO. Also, what were the people doing snapping pics instead of helping the guy?!

Lastly, if you happen to fall off a train platform, the worst thing you can do is try to climb back up. Go UNDER the platform if a train is coming, and wait for it to pass or for someone to call the cops.

Why don't these folks run to the end of the platform? Some of them have stairs to get back up, and service tunnels and things.

I don't know how many times I've looked under the edge of the platform and thought it was the place to go if on the tracks.

I think the law actually requires space under the platform for exactly that reason.

And you expected ?...

It's the FRIKKIN' Post!

The same paper that did a double page cover of the dead Mafia Don with his eye hanging out and a cigar still clamped between his teeth!

The outrage should be at the News Photographer who didn't put down the camera and pull the guy up!!!

I know what was going thru his brain...Pulitzer Prize/$$$$

Yes, he should have ducked under the platform lip, there is enough room to squeeze in and clear the train chassis, but he panicked.

I hope they catch the SOB who pushed him and toss his ass in front of a train!

You could argue that the dead mafioso had it coming. Not so for the some random schlub who gets pushed by some crazy.

Jeeez, that's grim. And tasteless...even for New York.

I was there on Monday and wondered why the subway was so hosed (not riding the Q thankfully) but I chalked it all up to Sandy's antics.

The photographer claimed he started snapping away in the hopes that his camera flash would alert the motorman sooner. If this is true then it was pretty quick thinking on his part.

At least they locked up the animal who killed the poor guy. They should drag his worthless ass down to the same platform..........

Having seen the report at lunch, there were other people on the platform. I'm kind of surprised nobody tried to help him up.

And that poor subway conductor will have to live with that vision for the rest of his/her life.

Reminds me of an old tale:

" A photographer sees a man drowning in the surf. He ponders a moment and has to make a critical, split second decision. color or black & white?"

Expect to see more like him on the streets soon. Vets are coming back from the sandbox, being told thank you and bye, and not receiving psych treatment if needed and desired. Yay!
