Neither Bot nor I made the comparison between Nugent and the Dixie Chicks that comparison was offered by none other than cmbdiesel, or does that plain and simple that fact still remain outside the range of your ability to comprehend even after having his words quoted directly for your perusal? That your capacity to engage intelligently has been exceeded and you're reduced to unattributable sophomoric ad hominem is not unexpected nor is it surprising.

Your faux righteous indignation at any comparison between Nugent and the Dixie Chicks ought be directed to those responsible for offering it, unless of course it was only self-serving bluster and bellicosity to begin with?

They won a pile of grammy's after the comments.
They still sell records, and more of them than Nugent.
Their career trajectory is better than most, and even after taking a hiatus, they still rank fairly high in the record sales and ticket sales categories.
Comparing their early career to their later career and drawing a causal relationship based upon their comments is a fools errand, and relies upon all things remaining the same as it's basis.
Things change. Bands hit big then fade. It's the way of things.
Pick and choose whatever bits and pieces you want to try to make a case that they ruined their lives, but they will always be richer, better looking and more popular than you and I.

I used 'my personal belief' in subsequent posts because I really did not see any advantage in continuing to bicker a point which is ultimately unprovable from either side.

It was a fairly civil discussion until you waded in, and again reduced the conversation to caustic personal attacks.
You can rise above such petty behavior.
Usually I enjoy your posts, as you are a thoughtful and intelligent person, but your last couple incarnations have been nothing short of instant douche bag.
Hopefully next time you are suffering from lack of Mercedesshop you will return to share some of the depth of knowledge which you possess about these fine automobiles.

I saw an argument in there. Unless I'm missing something, one can go into detail about the simply horrible political activity of the Dixie Chicks with about 20 or 30 words. That one remark? That was it?

Whatever, I don't get the undying animosity to the one Dixie Chick and her remark about Bush. Elsewhere you complain that Dorner wasn't given due process, was essentially executed by police. So insulting one govt. employee, Bush, is cause for a decade of lingering animosity, but insulting other govt. employees - police officers - in far more personal danger than W ever was, for being reluctant to sacrifice unknown numbers of their ranks while trying to take alive a man who had made no secret of his desire to kill them wholesale is fair game?

The devoted Libertarian mind is hard to fathom.

I have never owned a Chicks album. I don't care about the Chicks. I owned one Nugent album (Amboy Dukes) in 1967 or 1968. Given what I have heard since, I'm okay not owning another. I described what happened to the Chicks' career and why. My explanation is hardly unique in the annals of media observation.

To my knowledge, Dorner was a suspect in a murder investigation. I don't think the Chicks were suspected of anything more than pissing-off their base. Yeah, I like due process, but don't think the concept is appropriate for the arts, do you?

Why do people care so much?
