I think I might feel differently about owning and carrying a gun were I a woman. I'm not hugely muscular but I'm not small either. The coward who would prefer to prey on a woman is not likely to choose me for a victim.

I too considered that she was lucky he didn't manage to get the gun away from her and use it on her. Reflexes are funny. In close quarters, one could have the gun knocked out of one's hand very quickly if you were hesitant.

Odd that you bring up the herd thing. Not sure how that would sift out with the small crowd on OD. Are they too far ahead, too far behind, or just wayyyyyyyy out there on the fringe?

I like this story. The only thing wrong with it is that he is still out there to terrorize someone else. Likely next time he'll have a gun or will use the knife right away so that he isn't "threatened."
