How is granting everyone equal rights equal to rights being forced on others? Does allowing members of the KKK equal rights to speak their mind promote the beliefs of the KKK?

Granting equal rights to a segme t of society does not equate to a government t enforcement. Witches can practice witchcraft and the government does not endorse it. You are allowed to practice your faith with out restraint and the government does not endorse your faith. So I fail to see the connection between equal marriage rights and endorsement.

Civil unions as they stand now are not in any way equal to marriage. Even if they were, I am not sure they would pass the separate but equal smell test or the 14th amendment.

AH. Got ya. The regulations I am suggesting for gun ownership do not in any way infringe upon the ownership of guns, they just establish procedures that govern how the guns can be obtained, how they must be secured and the liability that goes with gun ownership. Kind of like the regulations set up for the 1st and 4th. No rights are absolute. Not even your precious 2nd.

What the regulations do not do is stipulate that a certain segment of society may not get married just like everyone else. That would like saying everyone can own a gun except Christians. You cool with that? I did not think so.
