Talking New Muffler Installed - sound clip!!!

The universal muffler I got off ebay, turned out to be an AROSPEED!!! hehe I got it for $69.99 plus shipping, came to around $80.00 total.

Installation I figure will cost me $60.00 at my local guy, so for $140.00 installed, I am going to be happy.

Ohh and it is phat looking, I can't wait to see this sucker on my car.

Not only should it have cost me around $120.00 for the muffler, btu I wasn't expecting an AROSPEED... I was expecting something else as the auction never stated it was an arospeed. It is brand new and still sealed. I took it out, and I am salivating at how sweet it looks.

I don't care much at the sound, but the look is what I wanted. Tips look like the oval tips from an E55!!! Its gonna look so sweet on the car. I think I'll have it installed after my dr. appointment tomorrow.

I'm so excited about it, I feel like a little kid with a new toy, I want to play with it so badly, but I can't, because it has to be "put on the car" hehe

If i stare at it any longer, I might have to go buy a mini torche from home depo, and put it on myself. hehe Better put it away before I get delusions that I am capable of welding in a new muffler!!! LOL

I installed a Lorinser muffler on the 230E. Its label says W124 4-cyl. The muffler is good I guess, but I do think that it's kinda loud (even though it really isn't) compared to the stock one. It does look cool.

Now, I wonder if I can find a racy-lookin' muffler for the diesel...
Maybe i should buy one of these...

The muffler would probably be black in no time...

hehe... No.. I'd rather spend quality time with my lady friends...

Got the exhaust put in today. Had him bend some new custom pipe to the muffler, to place it as far left as possible. Looks great. Had him make the tips stick out about as far as the bumper, but not as far. Looks good, and you can see a good amount of the tips.

It cost $100.00 because I had them put in the longer amount of custom bent pipe to get it in the position I wanted.

The tips were set in that position in order to accomodate a body kit later. I can always have them move it back a bit if I want, but I like it.

Sound is sweet, deep mellow tone, reminds me of a 91-95 M5 but friends say reminds them of a porsche... Either way, I'm a happy camper, and the dual rectangular oval tips, look amazing.

At speed its not too loud, and at low speed it is music to my ears.

Some would say its sacrilage to make a benz sound liek that, but all I did was change the rear muffler. If I took otu the resonator, I think it would be ridiculous. hehe

Anyway, Will post pics soon...

Alon

sound can best be described as a 1991-1995 BMW M5 from my POV, but friends say it sounds a lot liike a 2001 Porsche carrera..

Either way, it sounds killer. I'll grab a sound bite with my friends laptop... As soon as I see him next.

A Very Crude Sound clip of the exhaust. Used a laptop built in mic from like 2 feet away. Was very loud on the mic.

Will work on a high quality sample later. But you get the idea. its actually more mellow than that, and car sounds great when driving away at WOT.

That should work.
