Make Guns in Mississippi says Gunn
Gun manufacturers are under attack in anti-Second Amendment states,” Gunn said in a release announcing that he sent 14 letters to CEOs of firearm manufacturers across the country Thursday, inviting them to move their operations to Mississippi. He said it is a state “where their industry and jobs will be appreciated.”

Is the work force in Miss educated enough to know how to machine out and assemble such a device?
If a state government insists on cutting educational funding to the point that their schools are not turning out educated people then that state should not be upset when employers decide to look elsewhere for a location. |

I hear this lack of education thing from people here in Oklahoma a lot.
There are jobs here for skilled labor due to the oil business, but if you need someone with real technical skills or a higher education you almost always have to bring in someone from outside the state. An exception to the lack of education here was once the town of Bartlesville, which at one time was the home office of Phillips 66. There were more Phd's. per square mile than anyplace else on earth, and the US Patent Office set up an office there just to deal with the number of Patents they would file on a daily basis. But very few of these Phd. holders came from Oklahoma. |

However, I believe the main reason Kids are not learning is that the Parents are not making them do their School Work. The Parents are too Lazy, too Busy because they both work or too High to care; or some combination of those things. People from other Countries, poor and not knowing English come to our Schools and get straight A's because their Parents push them to get A's.

For many years the policy was to educate boys enough to work in the oil fields and women enough to know how to run a home. I thought this was some kind of joke until I started looking into it and found out there was a great deal of truth to it. But the schools did deliver what the public wanted. And the public (made up of the Parents) wanted just that. So the crux of your comment is right on the money. |

Looks like other states are trying to woo gun manufacturers as well. I'm surprised AZ isn't acting aggressively in this way, given that Ruger is already located in Prescott.

They just might get Colt, Stag and Mossberg if CT is stupid.
That's 5k good manufacturing jobs heading to some state. I'd be shocked if the Texas governor hasn't already made a personal call to the CEO of Colt about what their state could do for them. I wish my state had a governor who was actively trying to bring in good jobs. Instead of the current policy which is to punish business that can't leave.
