I could have sworn that TX had drive-through beer places, and actually allowed open containers in the 90s. You could drink and drive as long as you weren't over the limit for drunkenness.

Since I don't drink I don't know the current open container laws. The open container was a big controversy in the eighties, but I think it has been resolved since then. There are drive through beer stores, but that does not mean that you can drink it in the car.

In the sixties, there were drive in hamburger joints that would sell beer and put it on the tray hanging on your window glass. Talk about insanity.
