I'm guessing that Larry is cutting people a lot of slack on the private property issue (at least I haven't seen any threads on how immoral it is to own private property) so I'm wondering why he can't cut people some slack on the sex issue.

Apparently, your understanding isn't agreed to by 99.99% of the folks who so vocally declare their moral superiority based on the choice of religions.

They pretty actively engage the buffet mode.

I cut people all the slack they want on every issue as long as they obey the law. You can take your goat in the garage and have a threesome with your gay partner for all I care. Just don't look for me to believe that you are doing anything moral.

Yes, there are MANY people who are cafeteria Christians. Taking what is convenient for them and use a magic marker over the rest of it.

Larry you absolutely have the right to believe whatever you want, there is definitely NO dispute on that. Don't for a second think that anyone on here wants to deny you the right to do that, it's what makes our country and forum what it is. Many of us disagree on things and debate back and forth but as far as individual beliefs, that is something that should not even be in question.

That would be against US law. Animals do not have the right to consent and that would fall under animal cruelty or abuse.

As long as your belief doesn't seek to do things to impose your will on my beliefs either directly or indirectly, I would go along with it. However, once you or your proxies act, the game is different.

Red Herring. Your goat is not legally able to give consent.

Nobody says you have to agree that an action is moral or immoral. As with the KKK example, the BLACK lawyer probably doesn't like the Klan and neither do many of his black friends, of that I am sure. HOWEVER, he did demonstrate that he believes that regardless of his belief, they have certain rights. THAT is the point. Otherwise, you are no different from a person who says "You have the right to free speech as long as I agree with what you are saying.".

I myself am not gay nor do I have interest in having sex with another man. OTOH, I support a gay or lesbian couple's right to have sex, get married or civil union or blessed by Thor if they wish as much as I support your right to marry a black, yellow or even green colored girl.

As I have asked before and you deftly avoided, what if you agree with most of what this candidate says but one of the things you disagree with is that he wants to bring back segregation? Sure, you agree with him more than the other guy but this guy wants to deprive someone of his rights. Would that make it ok to vote for him and say "Because society didn't give me enough choices, I had to vote for him and he happened to deprive a group that I don't like so life is good."?
