Abraham Lincoln's quote comes to mind ("He who represents himself has a fool for a client."). The legal system is full of blind curves, fallen bridges and nightmarish potholes.
Without knowing all of the details, including the applicable laws and statutes, it's hard to say any more. A six minute snippet isn't much out of what seems to be a longstanding dispute concerning a land-use dispute. |

Quote:
(j) Premises means a lot, plot, or parcel of land, including the buildings or structures thereon. (g) Right-of-Way - Land occupied or intended to be occupied by a street, crosswalk, walkway, or other public improvement relating to public travel, access or use. (k) Tree Lawn - The area of the right-of-way located between the street pavement and the right-of-way line. (b) No person shall keep horses, goats, cows, chickens, sheep, mules, ducks, geese, turkeys or similar farm animals on premises of less than two (2) acres. In no case shall such animal be kept or maintained within 75 feet of any dwelling occupied by any person other than the owner of such animals. Following is statute 715.23 Impounding and sale of fowl or animals. Except as otherwise provided in section 955.221 of the Revised Code regarding dogs, a municipal corporation may regulate, restrain, or prohibit the running at large, within the municipal corporation, of cattle, horses, swine, sheep, goats, geese, chickens, or other fowl or animals, impound and hold the fowl or animals, and, on notice to the owners, authorize the sale of the fowl or animals for the penalty imposed by any ordinance, and the cost and expenses of the proceedings. And if you're an attorney, I've got plenty more I can forward to you.

Do I need to add anything.
pot holes legal battles, how much more cut and dry can it be? The city ordinance does not address keeping farm animals on city property. There is probably some reason why the ordinance was not written: "You must have 2 acres to keep farm animals" vs the way it was,,, "you can't keep them on premises of less than 2 acres" The first example is discriminatory against anyone with less than 2 acres while the second isn't. Can you image a law that says you must have a boat dock in your yard to be able to have a boat? VS you can't float a boat in your yard without a dock. Maybe not the best example but opefully you get my drift. If you haven't watched the short video, please do so, in it's entirety, IMHO it's a tear jerker.
