No double jeopardy indeed.

If the gov. wants you, they're going to get you.

Exactly. It's all about power.

When we allow the government to have the power and exercise it for things we like, by people we like, it is well to remember that the power remains even when it is in the hands of people we don't like, doing things we don't like.

Say hello to President Dick Cheney. We will have invested him (or somebody far worse) with the same power that we applaud in the hands of Obama.

Does a thrill run up your leg?

Is it realistic to presume that we can rein in constitutional abuses generated by the Executive branch, or is the solution the dissolution of the Executive branch of government?

I would be shocked if they didn't.

They already found no incidence of racism on GZ's part.

How they get around that?

If so, you lost your country.

It isn't either/or. It's a slippery slope, which we have been sliding down since Abraham Lincoln got away with suspending habeas corpus and became a de facto dictator, by enlarging the role of "Commander-in-Chief" to include damned-near anything. Including violating the Geneva Conventions of the day. The guy was a genius.
