Let me get this straight: are you really suggesting that this car is not the best-looking, most cutting-edge car from the last century?

..."century", as in BUICK Century???!!

Well yes it is, *IF* by "cutting edge" you mean that the Joan Claybrook 85 mph speedometer - thank you President Jimmeh Carter - represents the 20th century apogee of cutting edge car building, engineering and design.

Oh my HEAD, I didn't even notice that...

Thank you for being able to acknowledge that my car is cutting-edge.

Okay, so today I went out, cold started it, and then sat in the driveway for about a minute while fiddling with the tape player (it doesn't come on in accessory). I then looked up to start the car and move out of the driveway. While I was looking at the instrument cluster, the engine note changed to a much deeper one, the car shook, the low oil pressure warning light came on, and the car stalled. I started it right back up and it drove to and from the store just fine. Any thoughts on what that might be?

Sounds like fuel starvation to me. Might as well change the fuel filter, test the fuel pump for correct pressure.

Car with that low mileage and age probably has a lot of sediment in the tank from just sitting forever

So my diesel instincts were right (maybe)! I'll check the fuel filter tonight.

Fuel pump? What's that?

Remember, the fuel system will be under pressure. Something I constantly forget being an old deisel enthusiast. You will have to relieve the line pressure at the test port under the hood before you dare open the fuel system

Edit- id give this thing a full tune up out of hand.
