Pretty much all over the news today, a woman in Missouri survives a crash and there's a disappearing priest that is getting a lot of credit for performing a miracle in helping save the young lady's life.

In looking at the pictures I see that she was driving a W124 300e specifically. While I can accept miraculous intervention, I can also see how a well built car, a pillar of safety which most other cars were judged against also contributed to this you lady's safety.

Sorry but with a name like Oral Roberts, I think I would have it changed. He sounds like a porn star.

The guy reportedly had a pronounced calming effect on the victim and rescuers. Panic is not a healthy thing in such circumstances. He didn't teleport her out of the car but I'll give him credit for being a good influence.

So maybe I should have bopped her one on the head so she passed out and it would be the same. Rescuers should NOT be panicking. Training should have seen to it or they should be weeded out.

Teleport her or it isn't a miracle. My wife calms her patients down before a procedure. Sometimes with a "pam" like lorizapam and her sisters. Doesn't mean she performed a miracle. Her friend tried to put an IV in me when I was agitated. Didn't work. She took over and I felt calmer. A miracle she performed? I think not.

Google the guy. He was one of the first to see the power of TV when it came to reaching the Masses and tapping their wallets.

He also got folks to send him money to build Oral Roberts University which is a story in itself.

I know who he is and as they say, "There is a sucker born every minute" although, I'd say every millisecond. Still, look at the RC church at it's height. People were giving them massive amounts of money to buy a piece of heaven.

Captain cynical weighs in. It was THE LADY who was on the edge of panic or maybe despair is a better word. I doubt the responders were but they are allowed to get uptight now and then.
