It's like link said: 40 murders a day. You can't run through the streets and shout about all of them.

The Martin/Zimmerman story was sort of a perfect storm. Look at all the play it got in online forums. That's not going to happen with every murder. It's not possible.

Can't or won't because he can't milk it? Politicians are out for the sensation. You know that as well as I do. I suppose next you will tell me that the politicians were genuinely outraged at the bailout money being spent and the CEOs getting bonuses? Seriously? I don't believe either case but I lost my rose colored glasses a long time ago. Perhaps you could lend me yours?

Just an attention seeker. Not sure about the hypocrite thing.

So why pick that one? Think he said "Well, I can pick one murder out of 40X365 and that was the name that got drawn out of a hat?

And that is why it got the Presidential attention it did. Because of the play it did and the milking potential.

My hypocrite remark was what you call SARCASM. Oh and by the way: 40 MURDERS A DAY! If Obama remarked on all of them he wouldn't do much else.

So why that one? Why not leave it to law enforcement and concentrate on what he is supposed to do? I mean YOU have ruled out the fact that he was trying to milk it. Further to that, if all the politicians don't do much else, we'd probably be better off.

The story had gone national in a big way before he even said anything. He is the president, people expect a president to weigh in on such things, and as the first black president, he was in a spot unique among all preceding presidents to perhaps have a POV that had some insight into the black experience that was more than merely intellectual. Whatever, it's clear that he would not win with you on this issue regardless of his action or inaction.

Imagine if Obama expressed outrage at 1/4 of murders in the US. That means he'd be spending no small amount of time on 10 cases per day. He would soon be a joke because of it.

How about if he let some department deal with it and not butt in with his own opinions about how his son would this, that and the other.
