This was a move to prevent the importation of some Korean War vintage M1 carbines and Garands.

The current administration dislikes all firearms, even collectable ones.

I guess this is a chicken and egg kind of debate. Clearly there is a vast culture of gun worship in this country. If i implied that is not the case, i apologize. All the same, the laws are weak and out of touch with the needs of our country and there is a huge and well-funded industry that does everything in its power to keep it that way.

If we're going to have the 2nd Amendment, may as well start associating guns with discipline while they're young and impressionable.
I might be misunderstanding what you are getting at but your comment comes across as a red herring. Discipline in the general sense has nothing to do with anything, and you know it. Young and impressionable people begin their indoctrination into the worship of guns as soon as they are put in front of any form of entertainment.

Education is a good thing and wrt gun use, education is lacking. Our schools should teach children how many people are murdered and maimed each and every day in the USA due to gun violence. People who have been shot and lived through it should be paid to visit schools so they can explain to students and staff how they were shot while sitting in their home, or walking down the street, or at a restaurant, or you name it. People who were shot and murdered should be visited in the morgue by school children so they can see exactly what a guns do. Subject the young of our country to this kind of thing every month of the school year. By the time young people are able to vote they will have a real education of how much damage firearms do. An educated society will change the course of firearm use, IMO. But of course, none of this is done and firearms continue to be glorified.

Ah, yes...indoctrination and brainwashing of the children through the public school system paid for by the taxpayers to push an agenda.

That idiot is the result of failed parenting and a corrupt education system.

He may have had bad or no parents, and was a poor student. His past is a deflection and not relevant. Murder by gun happens many times per day, each and every day.

His actions of shooting a baby are another text book example of a why continuing to do next to nothing about restricting access to firearms produces and endless string of murders.

According to the following article, on 1-15, 2013 there were 30 people murdered due to fire arms on that day and anther 162 injured. All and all this was an average day regarding the use of fire arms in the USA.

This picture was found in Los Angeles last week, the FBI and LAPD arrested two dozen crips
in South LA. This doesn't look like a modern machine gun to me, but I could be wrong.

Textbook example of what? Gun control is foolish. Crime drops when gun ownership increases.

But here comes the BS propaganda pics and stories to try and support Obamas attempt to weaken the second amendment.

In every case of murder in the history of the planet, a human has been the key weapon...I guess it's time to stop importation of humans, too...right? Considering the human mind is highly volatile, dangerous, and too complicated for the average person to control and read...

Yeah...it's something like that.

You should visit a large Depot sometime. The Red River Arsenal is open to anyone who wishes to buy something off of Govliquidation.com that is for sale at that Depot. You will be stunned at the types of equipment that is left outside to just weather away.

Remember: This stuff is meant to be used in the harshest of conditions and is built to take it. But after 50 years even the best weather proofing starts to wear off.

The US Army currently teaches courses in how to store and ship everything they use since the amount of equipment lost to the elements was starting to add up.

Now think of a country that receives all of these weapons for free, knows they will never use them again, and yet can't figure out what to do with them. How much money do you think they would spend making sure they were kept in useable condition?
