I listen to everything. I do listen to Shakira, she looks good :p that's for sure and I do like her songs.
I'd listen to anything.. classical to heavy metal. Hip hop, r&b, country, rock, latin, u name it...

Of course I do have preferences at times but generally I'd just browse through the radio stations (my old benz doesn't have a cd player....)

actually... when I drive my Ferrari I do not listen to the stereo. I listen to the music of the engine...
NOT!

I have XM Radio, generally it is on the 60's channel. Other channels include the 50's on 5, 70's on 7, 80's on 8, Top Tracks (classic rock) channel 46 and the news.:p

I listen to Scorpions a lot! Too bad my CD player (a 3 yr old Panasonic discman) can't read the CD anymore......
and that's my only CD - Player..

If you wanna listen to some German "Heavy" metal.. try Rammstein...

Wait a minute.....you guys think you're old school???

My favorite car's theme song should come from my favorite genre, R&B. I'm very honored to be the first to mention the inimitable and very old school Marvin Gaye...

As long as we're listing R&B's best of the best, how about Donnie Hathaway? I saw a couple of references to Stevie Wonder....

I'm surprised that more didn't think Beatle's music would go along with our rides, as in "She's got a ticket to ride...."

I listen to everything from country to rap, love it all. I have a MP3 player hooked up through my tape deck and switch my music everyday. I listen to it all in my Benz except for the one Ja Rule song that says this--

"...that stormy night you wrote the dear John letter, took my Benz, keyed it and cut the leather.."

BAD KARMA!!!!!!

I've seen a few people mention morpheus for downloading music, but the absolute best place that has everything that you could ever want is called AUDIOGALAXY.

... Is RAP really, truly considered Music??? I like the beat mostly, but the lyrics usually mean nothing and there is never anyone playing any musical instruments.....I don't think that an old record player with a 33 on it being screached back and forth is considered an instrument.
Muskie531 Of course it's music. I think what you have been hearing is what is called comercial rap. A bunch of rich guys getting richer and rapping about their money. This is NOT rap. Real rap or hip-hop groups are more like The Roots, Tribe Called Quest and Dead Prez (stuff u dont usually hear on MTV or the radio) If you litened to some of their songs you would quickly learn that their lyrics deal deal with perhaps the most important issues in todays societies, poverty, corruption, war, prejudice and the list goes on.
As to the comment on the fact that there are no instruments being played i believe you just have to listen better. Most producers (guys that make the beats) use many instruments to diversify their beats. Ive heard piano's, organs, violins etc..
One more thing, i believe you have terribly underestimated the skill it takes to scratch with turn tables. When done correctly it makes an amazing twist on the beat.

By the way im not flaming just thought I would let you guys know that real rap is not guys talking about how much money they have, and that rap definetly is music.

Thanks for lettin me get my point out

Mladen
