This is not a new product -- it was sold as "Friendly Plastic" in the 1980s -- I used it for modelling.

Yes, but it is easy to see that if it had a higher melting point like 250-275 degrees F it would be more useful for other things.
It could still be re-melted and reused; you would just need something like a Lead Pot that people who make their own Bullets use to re-melt it.
