The same thing happened back in my home town in the 60's. A 707 landed at the local airport where the max runway length is a little over 5000 feet.
The specs on the plane state a typical landing run of 6000' so I reckon' they had everything hung out to get it stopped. I remember my father telling me that all of the seats had to be removed to lighten the plane enough to make a safe takeoff.

They also have to reduce weight (either by bumping passengers or by reducing fuel load and stopping over at Ontario) if the temperature is above a certain level. |

That's a factually incorrect statement.
The runway length ALWAYS dictates less than maximum loads on all MD-80's and 737's. No commercial aircraft can fly to it's maximum range out of John Wayne. |

I did NOT say "fully loaded."

You want to parse "loaded" versus "fully loaded"?
Maybe you ought to post your own definitions...........because they are senseless to anyone else. |

Isn't the wheel going in the wrong direction? Or have I not had enough coffee today?
