Locked for no good reason

I simply wish to make note that Tom Walgamuth's thread about Obama stating that you can keep your policy if you want............was locked without the slightest bit of support based upon the TOU.

The most vociferous arguments on the thread came from one of the moderators.

Proof yet again about the arbitrary nature of the moderation here.

Is there something in the TOU that says it isn't or won't be? ;)

Brian, there'll be threads galore yet to come.

At least they're not as c*unty as on some other boards, like miata.net, which banned politics entirely a few years ago.

A few of the mods on here are babies. What do you expect. The only forums I have ever been on that is as moderated as this is castboolits and the firingline. Castboolits banned me on day one because of my sn and the firing line likes to lock/delete posts when they feel the question has been answered and doesnt need to be posted on anymore. Total bs

Brian,

Unless you have no problem with a 30 day ban, I offer a friendly and respectful suggestion that you do not criticize the forum moderation here.

Best regards,
Larry

You believe that, because the TOU does not explicitly state that "moderation is not arbitrary" this provides the latitude to behave in an arbitrary fashion?

The very nature of the site allows the owner to behave any way he wants, as arbitrary as he wants, but, IMHO, he should be called on it whenever it occurs.

They have threatened to ban me permanently because of my outspoken nature. If that makes them happy, so be it.

There is a life outside of this place. I frequent it very little of late.

If there is only one person on this board that fully understands your statement and your feelings, it is me. I hope this doesn't label you as being in bad company.

Very best regards,
Larry

If they're gonna ban everyone who mentions moderation, then ban me too. If the owners don't like the heat of an open-discussion forum, get out of the kitchen.

I'll be happy to host an unmodded open-discussion forum for y'all if this gets closed down. Not that I have any major complaints about moderation here vs other fora, but I think everyone has a right to gripe.

One moderator here who never failed to show class has recently started conducting himself differently and I just mentioned it in a thread that magically dissappeared--hopefully he took what I said the RIGHT way.!

Thanks

I go in for urgent oral surgery Monday.

I have to laugh. This thread was started by a former moderator who loved to hand out infractions...when they weren't needed or deserved.

It's a thankless job man. Especially on OD.

TwitchKitty 11-23-2013 06:22 PM

I would have locked it a long time ago when it got so far off topic that it became generic BS hysteria.

If I were moderator and got tired of reading a thread I would close it. Problem solved. Move on to bigger and better things.

In addition to being locked, someone added to it posthumously.

How does that work?
