Why wouldn't a crash work? Seems its all about driving fast on the streets right?

Most of us have known or do know someone who regularly "pushes the limits" usually in a sports car. Illegal street racing, using the interstate highways as an autobahn, racing two or more cars on the highway or interstates (while you have your cruise control set at the speed limit and are driving in the right lane, they go around you like you are doing 100 MPH IN REVERSE!), trying to outrun the cops, etc etc.. all STUPIDLY STUPID.

There are more than a few race tracks where someone can go and "let the lead out" in a safe, controlled environment without needlessly endangering the lives of others.

The last time I rode with a willfully reckless driver was in Memphis, Tenn. - one night when an old friend was showing me how his new BMW sports coupe would run. I should have never got in the car with him, especially since he had driven recklessly at a high rate of speed waay above the speed limit before with me in other cars years prior. He died shortly after the near death ride he took me on, but not of a car wreck. I won't have to tell him I'm not riding in a car with him at the wheel again. He, like many, thought he was a real hotshot behind the wheel. It's hard to understand why some drive recklessly, after all the proof of what happens when a wrecking out at those break neck speeds. Even taking your car to the track with a helmet on, you can die when involved in a high speed wreck. So senseless.

How long will it take before the lawsuits start flying. Would his orphaned daughter have a case? Against the driver? Against the manufacturer?
Would the driver's family then have or need to start a case. Who put that light pole there? Sue them too.

Where you at MTI We need free legal advice.
Apparently Roger Rodas was quite familiar with high performance automobiles.
http://www.cnn.com/2013/12/03/us/walker-crash-roger-rodas/

But this is almost too much to comprehend...

His young son was among the first to arrive at the scene after the accident, said Jim Torp, a car enthusiast who was at the same charity event as Rodas and Walker. "I knew his son was heading towards the accident. And he got past me because he knew there was a fire and he wanted to see it. But he didn't know it was his dad until he saw the car."

How sad.

Would'nt it be something to find out that the cause of the accident was that they used some of these cheap rubber suspension parts in the recent service of that car, that we are hearing about recently on this forum.
I wonder if the department that handles investigations know about these flawed parts that we are seeing people complain about on this very forum....if not...they should be made aware of this type of thing...to include it as part of their investigation.

Go ahead Pelican parts...make the call.

Liberator boats are based on Eliminator's 21' Daytona. In the boating world everybody knows each other, very small world.

A woman who taught at my school and her husband got hit by a kid street racing in a souped up ricer. They were both out of work for an entire year recuperating from injuries and undergoing physical therapy. The kid died, fortunately before he'd produced any offspring.

IMO, you can be reckless without speeding, and you can speed without being reckless.

Just because you're doing 100MPH doesn't mean you're being reckless.

A few minutes before I heard the news on TV, I was reading this quote from Jeremy Clarkson:

“Speed has never killed anyone. Suddenly becoming stationary, that's what gets you.”

Here's a nice touching tribute for Paul Walker I chanced upon on my FB news feed:

Theres only one problem, other people. You do 100 mph in the left lane and some person on the phone texting pulls out in front of you and causes a wreck. A 100 mph wreck is magnified. There was a kid here a couple of years ago who wrecked his fox body mustang. They said he was doing about a 100 when he crashed and his engine flew 100 feet away from the rest of the wreck.
