Cabover Humvee. I used to work at a facility that did much of the original prototype testing while the HMMWV was in development. At the time, there were a few people there who had been there long enough to remember them. That picture looks like it was taken at that test facility.

A surviving prototype would probably be worth money to a collector. I don't know if there are any left.

I would *MUCH* rather have a Mercedes Benz diesel Unimog!

There must have been more than just prototypes..... i actually saw one in the real in arlington Tx one time around 1998 in a parking lot.

The model mogs I like cannot be had in this country, unless one has $45000.00 plus for a U series.
Im not crazy about 404's or i could buy one of those.
Hummer parts are bargan priced these days- every military base seems to have a guy living near it selling surplus stuff--just not for these coe's.
