He was one of the most influential people of the second half of the 20th century, and will go down in history with Colt and Browning as one of the great firearms designers.

I don't claim to be an expert, and certainly not with all the dates and so forth, but I thought George was the first president, and didn't start that job until 1789?

There's a president of the USA (which was not yet formalized) and there was the presiding officer of the continental congress, "Mr President."

Also, there's a present president of the senate whom I believe is the vice president of the United States.

Just to add to the confusion…..

My late uncle had a couple AK-47's in his collection, along with some other fully automatics. Not being a CT resident, my sister ended up with one of the AK's.
