I want this car 93' 320CE
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/ebayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1816673259&r=0&t=0
This car IMO is beautiful. I would not mind owning this, I could sell my car for about 6000 and hmmm....... Only if my parents would sign up for a loan, that bad boy would be mine. Does anyone know the performance numbers on this car? What about gas mileage? I would really like that car, does that price seem fair?

I've seen that car on ebay several times now..
It looks good. pretty much just like my car, apart from taillights and wheels. The car should be pretty much a stock 300ce, with upgraded suspension, exhaust, taillights, clear corners, and wheels. Looks nice with those wheels too. The price seems ok for the car, but only if it has full records for its whole lifetime for the maintenance, and the major items have already been taken care of. if you ask me. I got my car a year and a half ago with less mileage for around a similar price. Gas mileage should be anywhere from 18-24 mpg city/highway depending on your driving style too of course. On the highway I can get around 300 miles or more to a tank. city, around 225 give or take. That car has the same 3.2l engine as the 1994 -1995 cars, but the body is still the pre 1994 style. Alon

Snoopy,
Pay attention to the first words Ashman said, "I've seen that car on ebay several times now." This should set off alarm bells in your head. I can only think of a few reasons a car goes onto, and then lingers on, ebay. First, the owner is trying to get fairly more money than anyone in his/her local area would consider reasonable. You will pay top dollar in this case but the car might still be good. Second, there are flaws that are cleverly concealed by the pix shown on the web that will only be noticed if and when you see the car in person. Someone on this list, I forget who, got toasted by a guy in Tx on a 300TE that looked GREAT in the pix but was total trash when it arrived on a transporter to his town. He put $1000s into the car after giving up on getting his $$ back. Third, the car is overpriced AND there are flaws you can't see. Worst case scenario is you're being scammed. I can't tell where this car falls, but I will tell you I would never even bid on a car that I or someone I trust has not seen with their own eyes and had time to look over and make a critical judgement. Good luck on your quest, but give your head authority over your heart and remember there is always an advantage to being the buyer: you don't have to buy! The seller should be more motivated. I'm personally hoping for a more elusive bargain: a well maintained 1985 300CD that someone would offer for less than $4k. If I never see one, ok. If one comes along, I think they are one of the best layouts MB built. HTH, someguyfromMaryland |
