Today got the blood vessel blocking treatment to reduce the size of my prostate. Pretty painless. It's been about five hours now. I am free to move around and drive but to avoid heavy lifting for a week or so.

It was done at the UNC hospital at Chapel Hill. Nice folks. We are staying at the Carolina Inn....kindof high end for our taste, with a character that rivals places we stayed in Europe which were half the price.

Keep us updated. I'm waiting for my new meds to show up-the Cialis/Flomax cocktail. I read a lot of the successes of using Cialis with Flomax and talked my Urologist into giving it a try. Not sure of the cost yet-I read Cialis has gone generic.

Just remember that these meds have long lasting effects on your eye lenses. If you ever need surgery for cataracts or other eye problems, be sure to inform the opthamologist of your history.

Had some trouble getting off to sleep in a strange chair. Then remembered an extra pain pill which might have had some controlled substances in it....took that and slept for about 7 hours.

Chapel hill is a lovely little town stretched around the NC campus. Lots of old civil war era buildings, hills and windy streets.

I felt really good until I started walking, then found my legs a little wobbley but made it all right.

We ate last night at a wonderful place called the mediterranian Deli. Got way too much food to eat.

Then we went across the street and had some Tai rolled ice cream.

We're just planning wander around a bit today and head back tomorrow morning.

Today was very normal. Slept from 1130 or so until 6 am with maybe one wake up early in the night, then slept from about 6 til nearly 9 am. Went out today and walked around for a good while with no wobblies. Eventually did sit for a while while the Mrs shopped. Chapel hill is lovely. Turns out Duke is just up the road so they have a major rivalry in b-ball like Indiana and Purdue.

Checked for early diabetes? I am told usual is up in the night with it. Our bladders may also not remain as elastic as the years go by. This is just a thought that I have never heard before. So urge to go would increase earlier is my opinion if that occurs.

No, I'm askeert to check, that's the truth .

It's time for my annual physical , I'll ask the Doctor if/when I finally go .

SWMBO has Typ II Diabetes and still insists on too much sugar, fried foods and the rest..... .

Type two is very common. Not treating it at all increases all kinds of risks. A simple test may prove you do not have it anyways. Probably do not or your last physical that usually involves blood and urine tests would have shown it. Modern medicine in general keeps us clunking along much longer than without it.

Keep us posted please .

One of my mates was horribly nearsighted and had the lasik eye thing done, it was great for about two years then he decided to go back to glasses, he's worn contacts for many years but you can't after they do the lasik surgery, I'm far sighted as that's beginning to go so I was considering the lasik thing, not now, no way in hell do I want to risk my precious eyesight .

I still have a decent stream but am noticing it's not the gusher it was when I was 50....

they replace your lenses when catarac surgery is done. It brings you to 2020 and I believe it should stay stable. Many folks don't need glasses after it but I did for my prism and for my astigmatism. My vision is really good now but am still somewhat sensitive to bright light.
