I read an article recently that suggested that Obama is a bit of a hypocrite by complaining about laws against homosexuals abroad while remaining relatively silent here in the US. Granted gays are not being imprisoned or executed here but still, I think the argument holds a bit of water.

Whether homosexuality is a choice or natural, who cares. Why the bent on persecuting someone for how they live? It has nothing to do with you.

We, as Americans, do the best when we show the world how we handle freedom, equality and democracy by the way we live, rather than dictating to others.

Insane if not criminal to attempt to punish people for orientation issues they really have no control over. Makes me sick how some religeons still try to ram it down peoples throats that it is a free choice issue. In the vast majority of cases I personally believe it is not one.

For whatever reason I was born as I am in the still vast majority group. I really dislike people or governments and some religeons using gays as a target group though. Beyond a certain point you cannot help what you are.

I have no ideal of why a simple person like myself automatically understands their situation. Yet there are still groups intent on using these people in an unethical manner to be kind with descriptions..

When aids hit originally I noticed more than a few remarks that it may wipe them out. My thoughts at the time were I live amoungst a percentage of the population that holds viewpoints like this? What is wrong with people. Are they not smart enough to realize it is enough of a task rowing your own boat through life mind trying to row someone elses as well.

Sure I am not gay but I could have been born to it so to speak. For that and to take the endless abuse for it is not reasonable. .I really do not care if a person is gay as it is not my life. Plus who am I to pass judgement .

Perhaps the only thing I am semi against is lesbians. They are terrible waste of talent from my perspective.

Though as akim might say so many women so little time so it is not really an issue. As an after thought it is a little strange how nature seems to keep the numbers of genders at some form of equilibrium.

During the second world war the ratio of men to women was seven to one on Prince Edward Island. Maybe fifty to sixty miles away from me. I was not there but it must have been interesting if your heart did not give out.

Is it in Uganda or Nigeria, where it's also a crime to not report those you know to be gay? Read or heard that somewhere this morning.
Talk about getting even.

All going to change when they're the BMOC and start yelling Allah Akbar in a mosque near you.

One of the scariest parts of the situation is not the legal situation but widespread acceptance of terrorism. In the trailer for God Loves Uganda, near the end there's footage of a Christian minister preaching and asking his congregation who is willing to kill homosexuals. They all respond enthusiastically, raising their hands and reveling in their willingness to murder.

According to the NYT today, a Uganda newspaper published a list of 200 gay people yesterday. Some of those people will almost surely be killed.
