He has a lot of support among people I associate with, and it's out of ignorance, as Maddow hopes. I've actually been able to have a few friends take a second look at the issue and conclude he's wrong.

How so? To his therapist who could fleece him for money, sure. Beyond that, just because there is history for an item doesn't mean it exists today. There is probably history that some of my family members had a 40 yo man marrying a 8 yo girl. That was then. Rules change.

I wouldn't say completely bad since few things are completely but their recent history doesn't give a lot of confidence.

And I didn't nor will I watch Rush Limbaugh or anything calling itself a show with definite left or right slants that go on constantly.

Speaking of Limbombastic, Colbert recently aired a bit in which Limbaugh speculated that the shoe throwing incident with Hillary Clinton was staged. Perhaps to drum up sympathy for her and deflect from Benghazi, God only knows how his mind works:

If you had listened to the original transcript, you would know that it was a listener that first speculated that the shoe-throwing was a staged event. Of course, Rush then went on to note that with the Clintons, you never know. Remember the staged cross at Normandy --a beach with no stones, but there were just enough around for him to spontaneously make a cross. Or the dance on the beach--which was ignored until the press spokesman went overboard saying it was a private moment and no pictures were to be taken.

Nothing concerning the Clintons is spontaneous; everything is played for max political theater. Not even Obama can come close to their level on this matter.

All subjects lead back to Bengazzi when the right is talking about Hillary.;)

She never has had to explain her actions. Her rather flippant remark angers many. ( What does it matter, anyway?")

When you have been dealing with these people for fifty or more years please feel free to discuss how much they are alike. I have known a great many of these people and there is not a dimes worth of difference between any of them.

"They're all alike" is pre-judging individuals based on some group affiliation.

There's a word for that. Mr. Bundy is an example of a holder of that view. And so are you.

Your problem with this is that you don't understand the people you are trying to talk about. You consider them to be normal when they are in fact delusional. When you look at it from their point of view the last thing they want to be is different from each other. They are a solid group, not individuals, and in their world there is no room for individual thought.

I am so glad we definitively know "these people". It prevents us from having to waste time considering their circumstances, perspectives and interactions.

That political philosophy is intimately related to the history and political philosophy of racism in this country. He's not just a guy late on his rent.

On the other hand, we could take what he says of himself and his situation as being what he believes.

Overwhelming force makes it less likely that a fool like Bundy would start plugging away. If he does, one might conclude he would have shot and killed, say, a pair of officers, so with a crowd of LEOs, the pea-brain can be swiftly neutralized, excuse me while I brush away a tear.

Same rationale applied at Waco.

Yep, and he confirmed that connection with racism in his own words.
