The latter means that some, or many countries , and their citizens must be kept down in order that one can stay on top.

I do not feel that by simply being born in a particular place one needs to stay there their entire life simply because of some fondness they feel for that place.

If that were the case the United States certainly would not be what it is today.

A man once said - ' What we believe is irrelevant to the truth, and on a personal level all truth is relative'.

I have found most americans to be least likely to accept truth counter to their belief paradigm.

Since Americans are from everywhere in the World you would think that they would be the least Patriotic.

A lot of the Immigrants Children that were born here or their Children’s grand Kids enlist in the Military partly because the appreciate something that they received from this Country even if that something was only a Chance at a better life then the Country their relatives left.

I have lived out of the USA before and I can't get past the idea whole of the USA being My Home.
So maybe instead of thinking of Patriotism as being come complicated ideological thing think of it as where someone feels that they are at Home and just maybe Home is worth defending and other Personal investments.
