Why is it operating with both switches out of the circuit and what is the click if it's not the centrifugal switch?
The 'click' is the spring-loaded centrifugal weight assy, which spins with the motor armature. The switch is mounted stationary in the motor-case and is contacted by the centrifugal weight assy - either after it speeds-up or slows down. (not sure which) Even if the centrifugal weights are functioning, that switch could still be stuck or shorted in the 'run' position.

stacked unit
more than likely it's the start switch right next to the timer, have you tried removing power to this switch and seeing what it does?

switch part number 134398300

can't locate a wiring diagram. i have seen some weird stuff over the years, i had one do something similar to me and it turned out to be a coin had gotten across one of the dryer thermostats and was back feeding the entire circuit to the motor, without a wiring diagram pretty much hard to help over the computer.

it's not the motor, the motor is doing what it is suppose to do, starting when it gets power, and on this model it most likely isn't the timer, something is supplying power to the motor circuit, if the unit has a wiring diagram start at the motor and trace your way back from there to see where it may be getting power.

I've been looking at the wiring diagram trying to figure out how it's getting power without the switches closed. Can't figure it out so far. I'm not that good at interpreting wiring diagrams. Here it is.

I'm not sure how a stuck centrifugal switch can cause these symptoms. Under normal operations, once the start circuit has done it's job and the motor is running with the centrifugal switch engaged, opening the door cuts off the motor. So whether or not the centrifugal switch is stuck on or not, the motor should still cut off when the door is opened. It's not doing that anymore so the motor circuit must be getting power some other way to run with the door open.

the centrifugal switches are built into the motor, it can't cause your problem, a short somewhere or another part failure allowing current to the motor could.

it's a simple diagnosis for a good appliance tech if they actually have hands on the machine.

Model number is posted above. It looks identical to this one: Kenmore electronic moisture sensing dryer

Your wiring diagram was too blurry for me to read.
The only other slim possibility I can think of (based on how my GE is wired) is if the centrifugal switch has shorted to the heater somehow. My GE's heating circuit is wired through the centrifugal switch.

I unplugged the wiring harness from the motor and checked the continuity. I have continuity between white and yellow. White is 120 thru timer to motor. Yellow is 120 thru timer thru thermostat thru heater heading to centrifugal switch in motor so that heater only runs with motor turning. I have no continuity between the whie and either the gray (coming thru door and start switches) or tan (coming thru timer unswitched not sure what it does). So I can't figure out how the motor is turning if it's only getting voltage from the white with no continuity back thru either tan or gray to form a circuit. How else could the circuit be completed?

This just confirms what I already strongly suspected. The motor is operated by power coming from one side of a circuit that is normally completed thru the start and door switch. So it must be completely that circuit in a mysterious way.

Clothes dryer troubleshooting. ...

If you are having trouble shooting your clothes dryer try it when it is not running, much easier to hit a stationary target.

Check out this site. You might be able to get a troubleshooting guide or find a forum where this is discussed.

The last Sears dryer I had conked out and I found everything I needed at a Parts Direct store. That was 30 years ago when you had to actually drive to the place, but they had everything I needed to find the trouble and to make the repair.
