Two seat sprint car

I spotted a two seat sprint car today. Its for sale in southern Indiana. It has a chebby v8 with powerglide. He says its crazy fast. It has 15"d rear wheels with 19" width. I wonder how big a tire they offer for HOosier autocross tires? He says it weighs 1800#....maybe.

Its street legal and has a full roll cage. Plenty of room for wings too.

A mod. Run what you brung. it would never be competitive with the 900# motorcycle engined cars but it would be good for shytes and grins and at most events would win a trophy since there are no A mods there.

Woo hoo!

NObody would call me a woose here if I ran that. (not like a lotus elise!)

Check the gearing. Who needs an autocross car that does 70mph in 1st and reverse.

5.88 diff with 102" circumference rear tires. REar tires look like a swamp buggy.

Why get a two seat sprint car when you can get a 12 seat Sprinter van?

Those are tempting, but not for autocross!

Tom,

The heck with autocross. Take that thing out on the Saturday Night dirt track and charge folks for thrill rides. Get it crossed up going 80 mph sideways with Go Pro cameras on their faces. Then you get money for the thrill ride and make even more when posting the video on YouTube.

In youngspeak sick means really good (or something).

I don't think so.

Shame on you or posting such a low-res picture.

Yeah, something that's sick is too cool to be described by the word "cool" itself .

Another word that might be confusing -- although it's not so much a youngspeak word as a New England word -- is "wicked". In addition to its normal use, we in NE also use it as a strengthener for adjectives such as "cool" and "awesome", turning them into "wicked cool" and "wicked awesome".

Sprint cars in general are definately wicked. This one has a mild stock 350 probably from the camaro that donated the rear axle.

I went to look at it today. The fit and finish is outstanding. He gave me a ride in it. It won't go down the road straight at all...twitching left and right. I attribute that to three things....the back tires stick out about a foot further than the front and it has posi, the steering box gives about 2" of play and it has noticeable toe out. The seating position is really weird. My back straight up, my legs straight down and pushing my knees together and the brake and gas push straight down like an old stand up milk truck. the engine did not sound strong....a little breathy as if the valves are leaking. It has very high quality parts such as a lot of aluminum sprint car parts. He bought a wrecked sprint car, cut the back of the frame, from the firewall back and widened it a foot.

Gotta take the puppy out. More later.
