3/16" thick birdseye maple plywood?

I am thinking about using this on my dash and door panels in my 39 Studebaker pickup. Anybody know where I might find some?

Because of its intended use, would the backing for such a veneer have to be more moisture-resistant than ordinary plywood-based veneers? I'm wondering if a veneer supplier for marine or home bathroom applications would be the way to go.

P.S.: I am appalled that, as a tribute to the drivetrain in this noble beast, Zebrano wood wasn't considered...

Thanks Bill, I called them...no plywood available. I can get a 4 x8' sheet of paper thin veneer for about $500 from them though....(or another place)....so far no plywood though.

Insane pricing unless birds eye as that stuff is scarce and prized locally. We have lots of birch trees as well here. Tom a veneer shop if you can locate one would probably know where to get some. I have to hunt locally to find it in stock but it is also orderable.

Constantine's in the Bronx NY has any type of veneer you could ask for in several sizes and a hell of a lot cheaper than $500...google them.

You might want a picture of the venner sheet. Can be laminated to aluminium like Mercedes did. Or a metal of your choice to keep the overall thickness down.
