Potentially Stolen Vehicle

My 1987 300TD has gone missing. I dont know where it is. when we moved, i had to leave it behind, but told the place that I'd have it moved. they said fine. I sent a wrecker tuesday and it was blocked in by bins, attempted thursday and it was not there. nobody seems to know where it is, what happened to it.

Yes. Leaving it there was a dumbass move on my part. I diddnt have money for a wrecker and the starter was frozen.

Please keep an eye out on your craigslists if you live in the S.E United states.. It's a gold/brown in colour Mercedes 300TD-- the wagon. pictures are on here. Distinctive features, it's missing it's door cladding on the left side both upper-middle and lower door trim. missing the drivers side lock tumbler cover, has 1995 headlights and clear corners with the right most corner being broken out (lens missing, otherwise light is intact) and other very distinct features, the last of the vin is 19882. Please keep on the lookout for my car... I dont know if it was towed off and not reported in properly or if it's stolen... I've called the police and they have no reccord of it being moved by a company (should have been reported in)

Be sure to swing by scrap metal yards _ TODAY _ to check _AND_ leave your contact info. ( some are open on Sun to serve the pick up truck guys. ) No need to go into detail as to the situation other than the car was stolen.

Chances are as well it was moved by a tow truck or flatbed I agree. Check with all of them locally by phone as well. It could be sitting in one of their storage areas.

Unreported because they were perhaps lied to. Also ask the neighbors if they saw it picked up. Some people posses excellent memories.

Odd that it sat there all that time while he lived there and no one bothered it. Someone at the complex had it removed and is not being truthful. I would just report it as stolen.

I wouldnt waste any time reporting it stolen. Report it stolen, then call around.

The sooner its red flagged at a junkyard or recycler its at, the better

I've gone to the wrecking yards and it's not there... I'm holding off on reporting it stolen to give the realtor who now has the house contract to sale to get back with me, i dont want to make a false report.... As for the neighbors.... The one neighbor is a Complete A.H. the other is never home and the other one down the road who would know anything will pretend he knows nothing.... just so he dosnt 'bother or upset' anyone...

What possible advantage is there to not reporting it stolen immediately?

It was there, now its gone. Report it stolen and the fire will be under everyone. No fing way its a false report with the current information. I the realtor had it moved, it was without your permission so therefore, stolen.

They'll just say they thought it was an abandoned vehicle.

Check with the city and see if they have it.

The best way to make a vehicle disappear on a piece of property is to park it on a city road illegally and let the city deal with it.

You really don't want this car back do you? All of this is time critical and you are wasting time.

The car was there + now it isn't = stolen car! A false report is when you hide the car, know where it is, then report it as stolen.

You need to hit _SCRAP METAL YARDS_ not just auto salvage yards. A tow guy isn't going to hold on to this and likely it went directly from house to scrap metal yard. If you are lucky it hasn't been pressed and shipped.
