Hedge fund still pushing Yahoo-AOL deal - Jan. 8, 2015

Yahoo invented the web advertising . . . America Online (AOL) brought a graphical front end to the "world wide web" . . . would this merger basically just kill two old internet birds with one stone?

Who knew either one of them even still exist???

Still use Aol daily.

How can you "use" AOL? Isnt it just a homepage and email now? Do they still provide internet access?

AOL? What about Compuserve and Earthlink?

The only reasons I know Yahoo is still around is the Mrs. and I have used @yahoo.com for our personal email addresses over the years and various internet providers so we didn't have to change them each time we switched providers. And AT&T U-verse, which we had and now have through Frontier, piggy-backed Yahoo, too.

AOL still exists. In some areas dial up is the only option for internet access.
