Microsoft will be gone if they continue ignoring their current customers. Some how, MS believes that all the billions of PC in the world should be like cell phones. MS got where they are by supplying working PC software that companies and individuals could use and update when new versions came out. The last few versions were changed so much that big companies didn't want to have to buy the software and then retrain all their tech teams and users. I personally know of some customers that told MS they would stay with XP until MS could come out with an OS that would work "Right out of the box" for them. I haven't see it yet.
Think about it, if you can drive a 1920 Ford, you can drive a 2015 Mercedes with only a few minuets of instructions or a short instruction sheet. Of course, you couldn't use all the new features of the Mercedes, but you could get where you need to go. PaulM

Apple Car Talk
Apple reportedly aiming to launch electric car by 2020 - CNET Hmm . . . 1) Available in White, Gold, Silver and Space Grey. Skins available, but most will want clear shield. 2) Will have recharging cable only it can use and will cost $3000 for an authorized extra one 3) Instead of Check Engine light, there will be a spinning beachball. 4) Except for doors and glove box, entire car will be completely sealed, unless you have plastic pry tools, which will void your warranty. 5) Within a week of the start of sales, there will be software exploits to either jailbreak the car or turn your Tesla or Leaf into a Hackmobile |
