The company pays you for your time. If they're paying you to drive, then that's what you're doing today. I'm a white collar, but in a pinch they've had me deliver stuff in my truck (Always volunteer for this if they pay by the mile )
By God, that's FUNNY!

Looking at doing a variation on this. We have an existing "naked" truck that I can transfer the utility cap to. Then I can drive the stripped truck to the dealer for trade in.

I'm waiting to hear from the dealer right now if they will transfer to the local dealer so that is the deciding factor.

It's weird, out here (CA) the dealers are happy to drive a vehicle to you. They have two runners come out, one in your vehicle, the other in a chase vehicle to take them both back to the dealer.

If your dealer is willing to do that, then make a side deal with them that they give you $500 trade in for the truck, and you buy it as a straw man for that $500. The company gets their desired result, you don't have to drive the thing anywhere, then you can sell the cap and dump the truck on CL. In the end you'll pocket a few dollars, and if it concerns you you can give that to the company.
