Look What FIAT did to the Miata

The new Fiat 124 Spider - Press Releases - Fiat Chrysler Automobiles EMEA Press

Well, it's certainly no 124!

To me, it looks a bit too much like an NC with more wrinkles, but some people seem to like it... ?

I like the ND.

I like it, it's classic and rather understated whereas the Miata looks like it'll slice you in half if you lean on the wrong spot. I'm not sure which one of rather have but I think the turbo fiat engine hits the spot for me better than the Miata offerings.

Not bad... it actually seems to respect the heritage of the original Spider. The 2017 Miata follows the typically Japanese trend of looking for relatable "faces" in cars; not a big fan of that.

What I foresee is a fine roadster with a potentially temperamental Abarth engine. Time will tell if that powerplant will be the car's big "BUT". It puzzles me why didn't they make the original Miata engine a standard and have Abarth be an option.

Too much style for me.

Actually I like it. Nicer than the Alfa.

Looks great! Although, a little under powered IMHO. Should have close to 200HP in this day and age when base mustang engines have over 300HP.

That 2.3L ecoboost Mustang weighs about 1,200 pounds more than the FIAT.

Looks good. One of the most fun cars I believe I've ever driven was a 124 Spider during the last 1970's. Not real reliable but man you talk about a simple, fun car.

You wonder how long it will be before someone crams a BMW V10 in it. A 2.5 liter 6 might be appealing however.

Maybe they are going back to the roots of a roadster, where you dont need excessive power to have excessive fun. The old Miata NA only had 90hp and was a blast

A Miata is not about maximum pace. Its about balance and fun. I haven't driven a new one yet but they have always been great driving cars.

Well the Abarth engine is American. Mulit air turbo from the guys at Mopar. They're putting it in Jeeps and other things. Haven't heard of any motor issues yet.

I love my Abarth btw.
