Angry fed up

my friends got to bad mouthing my car today. One drives a taurus and the other drives a saturn. They both badmouth my acceleration although I've beaten both of them in races at one point or another. Anyway they started talkin about it and I just got up to me a said come back at me when your pieces of plastic that you drive are 20 years old. They'll be in the junkyard and my mercedes will still be running. it felt very liberating this should get them to shut their mouths for a couple weeks at least.

damn... pretty immature crowd those friends of yours are... (no offence). I hope they're not serious.

My friends would never say that. Once in a while we all (including I) make fun of it. However we do it for jokes.

I remember how pessimistic my friends were when I told them that I was buying this 300CD. Then after they saw it in person, most of 'em just fell in love with it... especially the interior.. there's no denying that it's a Mercedes

If I was you I would just smile

Just show them the original sticker price. And tell them thats still what the car is. But market value has changed, the cars value has not because its still an $XXXXX Car.

Someone driving a Saturn is not in a very good position to make fun of ANYONE! :p The Taurus is not far behind, either!

In 6-8 years, that Saturn will be ready for the junkyard. You car will look and run much like it does today if you continue to take good care of it.

Taurus, i think thats your version of our Ford Mondeo....or is that the Contour?

Anyway, anyone driving a Ford is in no position to be laughing at a Merc driver, i suggest a public flogging in the street!!!

Every other month or so, a thread appears concerning one or more individuals making rude comments about the MB marque.

We all need to learn to ignore these folks, and pretty much write off their comments as just plain jealousy.

MB has a long glorious history of manufacturing vehicles that set engineering and styling standards for decades.

So for you and ther rest of the forum members...don't go down to their level by glorify their comments with any sort of retort...your Mercedes-Benz vehicle speaks for itself. No need to waste your time defending it!

Here's something else you can do...

Challenge them to a flat-out top speed run on a deserted road in the West or the Southwest. I guarantee you, that Taurus will overheat after 10 minutes of being run at its maximum speed. U.S. family sedan cooling systems aren't designed to take on Autobahn running, like your W126 S-class is.

And besides, if you've beaten them in races in your turbodiesel, why are they even whining about anything? They are the ones that drive plastic American "secretary cars".

Well, at least it's the American car drivers this time instead of the Japanese...

Owning a Benz and defending the choice sometimes seems like what Shaquille O'Neal must go through everytime he trys to make a basket with all the "hanger-ons"

Whats sad is back in 83 my BMw cost more than a new honda does today with a base of 25k and the 500 cost 48k US and with import 53k. Just think it is about double that today!
Rember they have problems we all know it just hope they catch the cure from you. J/k
