DD is a 2014 Caddy ATS 2.0T four banger. White (Pearl white?) 4 door sedan.
Likes:
Enough pep to get up and go with the turbo.
The style - seems to draw looks from the ladies. Looks like it's moving standing still.
Firm but comfortable suspension even with low profile Michelin tires.
Enough legroom for me @ 6'0" Headroom getting in is barely adequate.
2 tone seat upholstery is different. Keeps interior marginally cooler in summer.

Dislikes:
Worst visibility of any car I've ever owned. And I thought the CTS was bad. Oi!
7 speed tranny always shifting. Always.
Crummy gas mileage, especially with winter blended gas. Don't ask. I don't monitor.
Trunk's a joke. Poor lid design imo.
Trouble free car though. 2 years into my lease with 19.5k on the odo. Only issues were 2 B/S minor electrical recalls.

The Red Baron is the weekend warrior. Still gets compliments and draws attention. Met a lady at the recycling center who said she had a 560SELbut really liked mine.
What is the number of this car? I lowered the trunk lid so she could read "300CE" and gave her a little production history.

My '99 E300. Purchased by my parents in 2003 for $23K, now my car.

My '92 300D $300 running and driving acquisition project. Has bad fuel and needs injectors. Needs some rust repair on the radiator support and right rear quarter.

if its the ass end issue anyone choosing that over the all aluminum ls4 would be a total imbecile. GM finally got all the bugs out of building aluminum v8s.

the intake is bolted on "backwards" on the fwd impala's etc. This is a direct bolt up to an asian bell, all the manual bits are the typical ls stuff.

So, nearly 8 years after the start of this thread, the SHO is long gone, and I am driving around in a 2022 Honda Pilot:

LIKES
~ All the room in the world and very comfortable seating
~ Drives under the radar, practically invisible to law enforcement
~ Pretty decent build quality, and zero returns to the dealer for issues

DISLIKES
~ It looks like a fricking minivan, unlike my black SHO, which had at least some degree of badass to it
~ 80 horsepower less than the SHO - 0 to 60, in the low 7's, is almost two seconds slower

Surprised I missed this one.

Currently we are driving a '19 E450 and a '21 GLC 300.

I like the smooth power of the E450. It is insanely smooth in its delivery. Press the 'go' pedal and it just GOES. Seats are comfy. It has cooled seats and in hotter then hell Texass it is a very nice feature. The Pano roof is very nice, it opens the car up and makes it very airy.

The GLC is just a 4 banger. Very comfy as well. Just does not have the power of the 450.

2010 e550 musclecouch

2021 Grand Cherokee Trailhawk

These are the dailies at least. The e550 is basically "my" car, nice to drive up to the airport and back, just eats miles and is super smooth. I love this car and engine combo, its quick but quiet, smooth and pretty reliable.

The GCTH is our beach cruiser, we drive on a couple times a week to fish, so the 4wd is great there. Its also insanely comfortable and surprisingly quick with the hemi v8. Not convinced on reliability...at 38k I found some shavings in the oil. Not good but still under warranty.

I daily an 06 scion XB 5 speed or a 97 aerostar work van.

The XB may be the most usefully laid out vehicle I've ever owned while still being fun to drive. It reminds me of the spawn of a miata and a refrigerator box

Aerostar has the ranger 4.0 and apart from an unexceptional transmission, is durable and reliable

Sadly my beloved 1982 240D is still sitting in my driveway waiting for me to re assemble the driveshaft that turned up bent (? WTH?) .

In lieu I drive my 2001 Ford Ranger trucklet (AC WOOT !) or when I know I can park it where I can see it my 1959 VW Beetle .

I've got an acquaintance that moved to south Ga from Sacramento. She has a 1970 VW beetle that she asked me to help her with it. I was somewhat surprised to see it had an elaborate alarm system installed. I'm assuming they are easy to steal and are readily swiped in CA.

Post See To What ?

Yes, old VW's of any stripe are ridiculously easy to steal .

I added a shift lock that locks it into reverse and I use it but if they want it, they'll get it unless I see them .

My wife bought a Tesla Model Y performance. Rides great, zero to sixty in 3.5 seconds! You can drive with one pedal as you never have to hit the brakes. Take your foot off the power and it just stops.

AWD, amazing sound system, built in internet and plenty of head and leg room. (I am unusually tall). Voice commands for most of the things you adjust. And very silent. The loudest noise comes from the tires as there is no engine noise.

I don't care what gas cost anymore. I pay ten cents a KW at the house. Regarges overnight.

The power comes on smoother than anything I have ever driven. There is no shot out of a cannon feel.

And on paved roads it drives itself!

Next time I am in Lincoln I am hoping to see what the Mercedes EQS is all about.

And safe. I knew a lady that got T-boned in hers and she didn't get a scratch.
