mercedes W201 differential

hey guys,
i've got W201 with 2.0 AT engine, the car reaches 160 Km and dont want to go more than that. nothing wrong with the gearbox and engine it self.
most people told me that its differential problem.
so is there different kinds of differentials and is there a low speed one and higher speed differential like BMW or not
