2716 Mercedes-Benz s350

I have a 2006 Mercedes s class that has gone in limp mode rn and is giving hard shift.

The fault code is see on scanning the car is 2716
When I tried to clear the fault with my mechanic it did go out of limp mode for a bit and start working properly but post 2 hrs after turning it on again, the issue of limp mode happened again

Before this I faced a issue with my car in which it had gone in limp mode and I did not realise and thought it might just be the transmission fuel that's low .

So as a result it broke my ism and I have to change the intelligence servo module which I bought from sino-autobase.com

Luckily the piece worked out for me and when I turned on the car at that moment all was good but immediately after next day this issue of limp mode started and this fault code of 2716 is now a fixed fault code which is current and stored in ECM.

Please help me understand what could be the issue and solution

Pic of the fault code and message attached below

The 722.9 has condutor plate issues as does the 722.6. Unfortunately the conductor plate is part of the valve body on the 722.9 and must be ordered by the dealer as it's programmed to the car. I know somebody who had to do this on an S500 and it cost about $1750 for a replacement.

Are you very sure it's the conductor plate aka TCM or it could also be a faulty selonioid!?

The few times I've tried to replace just a solenoid for that problem it either doesn't work at all or returns in a short time with the same problem. I believe that when a solenoid fails it can damage the circuitry in the conductor plate / module. Replacing both should resolve the problem.

But I have tested the solenoids with a oms test and also by giving 12v charge and checking clicking also

All are working do you still feel I should change both ??

There is a complex circuit to drive the solenoid. Testing it for a clicking sound is only a partial confirmation. As you said, it worked for a few hours before it failed again. Manually testing the solenoid while it's connected to the circuit board is also a bad idea.

So what you suggest is as I have a fault of solenoid D I would order only solenoid D
And TCM

Or should I order all 8 solenoid!?

If its my name on the job and mine to re-do when its not right then absolutely it gets both.
