Albumin is a reason to not push fasting too far. If you don't have all of the components to make protein your tissues don't get replaced and can break down.
Similar thing with fats. Most hormones are made of fats. Real fat, not the factory made fake fat. If you don't get fiber you don't poop. I could live with some health problems but when I can't poop and hold my mud, I'm done. Read some about interval fasting. Probably better than all out fasting. If you exercise before you eat you burn reserves. Burning and replenishing reserves has benefits. |

look at apple cider vinegar. Taste OK, suppose to be better than others. Also, fish oil or others like squid and krill oil. A lot of people recommend taking fish oil or squid and then krill. Also, I was recommended Liver pills. Seemed to feel better after taking them. B complex, fish/krill oil, D and C are minimal. I'd probably see what is recommended for your blood type. Might also see if you have an Amish doctor around your area. Haven't tried one yet, but people I know seem to think they helped a bunch.

As a retired street medic, I can tell you that I do not believe your most recent numbers (117/158). If your diastolic is higher than your systolic, you should be dead.

Sorry to hear things have not been on the rebound. The Dept. of Veterans' Affairs is horrible in my area. DORN VA, Columbia, SC should be closed down.
Can you use the "Choice Program" and go see a real doctor? |

top number 158, bottom 117. I had to drive 30 miles to see my granddaughter 6 in the hospital for failing kidneys.I took 12 1000 mg garlic oil capsules, which lowered it to 128 over 86.

The resistant starch thing has been doing me good. Lot of buzz about it these days. The paleo crowd is big on it because supposedly hunter/gatherers got a lot more of that than we moderns, IOW our digestive systems evolved with a lot of that present. It's basically starch that resists normal digestion into blood sugar, etc and instead makes it to the large intestine mostly intact where our gut bacteria make a feast of it. Supposedly is of benefit to many functions of the body, lowered blood pressure one. I know it's been giving me outstanding bowel movements, the rest I take on faith. I had a brief hemorrhoid experience a few years back, and, OH LORD, I don't want no more of that. (the following not the sort of chit-chat one brings out when having tea with the Queen): my bowel movements these days are big, floating, and eaaaassy. Nice. Believe it or not, potato starch is one of the easier ways to get it. Also green bananas, plantains, or the flour of each. My potato starch ritual is as follows: I put one teaspoon, sort of heaping, of citric acid powder and two to three tablespoons of potato starch in a jar, about 6 ounces of water, shake like hell, next time I pass by, shake again. This early in the day. The acid solution supposedly dissolves/removes much of the downside of the nightshade compounds in potato starch. A few hours later, after the starch has settled into a semi-solid mass at the bottom, pour the water off, pour in another 6 ounces of water, shake again. I put it in the fridge and before going to bed, pour that water off - add new water, shake, put in a large cup, add nutrutional gelatin and collagen (more paleo), also a teaspoon each of oat bran and psyllium husk. The latter two help to distribute the starch over the entire gut for better results. Also often add about a tablespoon of a vegetarian probiotic mix, blueberry flavor, especially after being forced to take antibiotics for any reason. Word is those suckers will beat the hell out of gut bacteria of the sort you want to keep. One byproduct of the bacterial digestion is a fatty acid, butyrate, which is said to be beneficial for intestinal cells and also partially blocks uptake of carbos in the liver. My memory is suddenly weak on the latter bit but I've read of considerable research that indicates RS improves insulin sensitivity. Another wild bit, it's said to do fine in the gut just before bed, unlike most any other 'food' and gives good dreams as well. I've noticed that it does seem to help me sleep which is another touted benefit. The mix isn't that hard to swallow, a bit bland but goes down much easier than wheat grass juice for example. Many web hits on this, here's a good one: https://chriskresser.com/how-resistant-starch-will-help-to-make-you-healthier-and-thinner/ I first heard about it from Dr. Mark Hyman, he's one of the guys promoting increased consumption of good fats.

I've been hearing good things about krill oil. I try to take some every day, if I had salmon for dinner maybe I skip it. Also, I've always noticed that flax seeds are hard to chew - I used to do an oatmeal breakfast with flax seeds. I read a piece which suggesting flax meal but said that the omega 3s will deteriorate quickly after grinding. Word is that flax seeds are not all that great of an omega 3 source, better than nothing, but apparently care must be taken to get what benefit they do have. Turns out my little coffee grinder thingy does a number on flax seeds, also chia seeds which always struck me as impossible to chew. Not sure about all the chia seed hype. I just finished a nut smoothie with green bananas and hemp milk, I put some ground flax and chia seeds into it. Dr. Hyman gave me the nut smoothie idea. He claims adding nuts to the diet will help ward of diabetes in a big way. I've always liked them, but I'd cut down on them for many years. My teeth are not optimal, the smoothie thing helps.

Any reason you couldn't treat a whole bag of Bob's PS at once and then dry it out ? I read your routine and thought "yeah no way I'd do that daily in spite of my best intentions". I'm also not sure the risk of nightshade alkaloids is a big deal.

I've had mixed feelings about it and did have a thought similar to yours. I was wondering if drying out the potato starch would be tricky or if there was any chance of it spoiling after it became wet.
I was doing the starch for a month or so before I read about the nightshade/acid solution routine. I really wasn't aware of any ill effects from the nightshade stuff but considered that it may be a minor reaction that is nonetheless problematic. This is the page I read about it: https://freetheanimal.com/2014/07/groundbreaking-nightshade-starch.html It may be a bit much. But it doesn't take long. And I do have a bit of joint pain now and then. I also like tomatoes (salsa mainly) and red bell peppers and both are nightshades. Not using citric acid on those.

Let me add that I can only imagine that many people would consider me a borderline loon just for the potato starch and other items, going to the extra length of the mild acid wash would really get the eyeballs a rollin.' I went that route because I was liking the effect of the potato starch (who woulda though??) and thought wouldn't it be a drag if I was inadvertently taking in a lot of the nightshade stuff at the same time and it did turn out to be a negative?
I've never given much thought to the nightshade thing. Not sure what to make of it. But the acid wash thing is really quick and easy. Maybe an extra 2 or 3 minutes added to the routine.
