The Japanese full sized pickups are with no exceptions good looking and are what our pickups should look like.

(Used to be the Japanese had reliable but unconscionably ugly designs)....no more.

This freaken truck would spend days in the dealer for little electrical issues! Or they would fix it and the CE light would come on the next day. Another thing that annoyed me is that the body panels were so thin you dented them touching them. My hood had a dent from closing it...

Lastly after 30k it rattled worse than a 300k mile Mercedes, what a POS going down the road, and it leaked water when it rained which was cool.

The truck pissed me off because I special ordered it exactly the way I wanted, it took 8 weeks to build... I fully intended to keep it for 10-15 years if not 20.

Well the Ram didn't work out, I bought it for $32k and sold it to Carmax for $20k two years later needing tires. They sold it with new tires for $24k pretty fast, good luck to the new owner.

I had two people I know who wanted to buy it I told them no.

Now on to some good trucks!

I replaced the Ram with a fully loaded Silverado LTZ, every freaken option except back up sensors which I didn't realize until I took delivery. Next time I'll get a High Country.

The Chevy is a ****en amazing truck, I can't get over how good it is.

So the moral of the story is Dodge/Ram sucks, buy a GM.

All manufacturers make their lemons. Sorry to hear that you had to deal with one. The worst lemon I ever dealt with was a Mercedes. I would expect more lemons from GM and Dodge, but we will never have data to know for sure. It is always anecdotal.

I disagree. Not that it matters as I'll never own one but I think that all current full size trucks are butt ugly.

Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. We all have different taste. There is no accounting for it. You might like the way it looks and the next guy might not.

Must be a generational thing since I actually really like the new trucks from both GM and Ford. My dad however shares your opinion of the new truck designs.

I have no problem with the looks of the new trucks except for two things, both of which are a matter of taste, maybe to some degree a matter of my own needs in a truck.

To begin with, the black wheel fad is something I am unable to wrap my mind around. I realize this is not limited to trucks, but I will be pleased when this fad disappears. I see people put ridiculously expensive wheels on that are painted black. If they want black wheels they might as well have plain steel wheels. It's their money and they can spend it however they please, but for my taste they make a vehicle look like a pile of dog do-doo. I wonder how many folks really think this looks good and how many just do it because it is the fad.

The next truck fad that I don't personally care for is four door pickups. The roads of NorthEast Texas are covered with them like locusts. Again, it is their money and they can spend it on whatever they want. It works good for me because since I only want a regular cab truck, they can be had cheap? I know someone who readily admitted that he bought a one ton four door truck because it is the in thing to drive. The bed in his truck doesn't have a single scratch and I am pretty sure that NOTHING has ever been set in it. It is his money, he is free to spend it as he chooses, but it just makes no sense.

In aviation you must have special training and sign off to be legal to fly certain types of aircraft. I believe this would be a good thing to do for large four door trucks. They are so popular here and so many are driven by people who can't handle them well and are completely incapable of parking them in one parking space, even oversize parking spaces that are plenty big enough to contain the truck even if sloppily parked.

I wonder how popular these big trucks will be after gas prices go back to $4?

I don't like the black wheels either. They also make a vehicle less safe as they are less visible to oncoming traffic (from the side). The four door cabs make sense if you have people to haul. Its also nice to have the space for things you want kept safe and dry.

When the cost of fuel goes up I imagine their value will go down as folks who don't actually need them sell them off to buy econoboxes.

I like the Ford. Couldnt pay me to get a chevy or dodge unless we are talking diesels.

I agree with the black wheel thing, its horrible. I love the quad cab the inside storage is awesome. The problem with a regular cab is say you want to put an ATV in the bed, and go somewhere with two people, and its raining...your stuff is going to get wet. Now I can put everything in the back! Locked dry storage!

The 6.5ft bed is really fine, I get more and more stuff delivered. I want to keep downsizing my truck, as I get more efficient in construction. I will probably get a Colorado next... My ultimate contractor vehicle is an E300 4Matic with a screw driver and an Iphone.
