Just looked at Direct TV on line with standard DVR and basic channel package and with a 2yr contract it avg out to about $51 a yr. Not a big savings over Direct TV now and we get all the benifits of skipping commercials and I do not get the evil eye from Ms Mash. Win/win

Glad it is a win win.

Sony's streaming service, called "Playstation Vue" has been OK since we dumped sattelite. No playstation required, it's an Android app. Around 35/month. The on-demand feature has no FF or rewind, but the DVR does. We rarely watch anything in real time. 90% is DVR. It hangs up fairly often, but I figure that's my shltty bandwidth. They have 3 levels of service. HBO etc. cost as much as DirecTV charges. I don't have them.

We had Direct installed yesterday. I got a good deal. 2 yrs with the basic package (155 channels) no premiums and no sports for $52 a month over 2 yrs. Not to bad I think.

The one thing I really like is the 4k channel. They play all sorts of random shows. Last night I watched a show on the Concours de Elegance and now I am watching a show on life on other planets. I love 4k. I bought a new OLED end of last year and this 4k programming really lets this TV shine. Watching the Concours was really impressive. The detail was truly incredible.
