While it was not right for the US Army veteran to curse at the cashier, it didn't grant the police the right to knock him to the floor and use pepper spray on him.

Two wrongs don't make a right.

Post Wallmartians & Muskogee

We hm ;

You didn't tell the whole story .

Being a disabled Veteran gets a large amount of pass from me but acting like an a$$#ole as this guy did in spite of repeated warnings, it's cool either .

? Can't you ever find anything positive to talk about ? .

Some sort of balance .

The problem is the cops seem to be ENJOYING inflicting MORE trauma on a veteran who had already been traumatized from war.

Sick.

I have worked a LOT of retail and I know this. Unless someone comes in and points a gun in the cashier's face, there is NO reason to call the police..... EVER.

It is Walmart's responsibility to train their cashiers, customer service representatives and clerks on the proper way to deal with problem customers. There exists many methods to difuse a situation which results in EVERYONE (cashier AND customer) walking away HAPPY!!

When faced with a difficult or problem customer, untrained, incompetent MORONS dial 911 and declare a 'police emergency' . Believe it or not, flashing lights and sirens really DO disrupt commerce in ANY store setting.

This video says a h*ll of a lot about the lack of training Wal-Mart provides its cashiers, clerks and customer service represantives.

I believe I'll be be taking my business elsewhere......

I had to call the cops more than once when I worked retail. One guy threatened violence when we wouldn't give him a refund on a part (that he didn't buy), and he refused to leave. You're saying that wasn't appropriate?

Similar with a guy trying to use a bad check.

Another guy who started defacing property.

Some people simply do not diffuse, and their game is to amp it up constantly.

Somehow nobody got shot, there were no fraudulent doctors, airline workers, or fire inspectors involved either, by some miracle.

Your biggest problem is you live in Philly, a city known for violent people who have no problem committing violence. If I were you, I'd move out of that h*ll hole.....

He hasn't / doesn't and isn't ~ he's just miserable and afraid so he endlessly re posts hannity / limbaugh / etc. tirades that he knows are false, just to spread unhappiness .

Sad as in between his endless B.S. there's actually a human being in there somewhere....

Let's face it; some business owners view their customers/prospects as the ENEMY. They have no problem sicking bouncers, dogs or the police on the VERY PEOPLE who are voting with their checkbook. Can you say IDIOT??

An astute customer realizes the sales clerk/cashier/manager/supervisor has a BAD ATTITUDE early in the game and that he/she is on the losing end of the stick. They then make the wise choice to take their business down the street.

The moment I sense a sales clerk, cashier, manager, supervisor, business owner, etc. has a BAD ATTITUDE, I inform them that NO, you will not be SHAKING ME DOWN for money today and YES, your competitor down the street will be getting my coin......

I never step foot into their h*ll hole business ever again. THEY ARE THE ONES WHO MADE THE DECISION TO END THE RELATIONSHIP.......

Easy, tell him he has to leave immediately or your security dog will deal with him.

Another easy solution; sign posted on front door and cash register. "WE DO NOT ACCEPT PERSONAL OR BUSINESS CHECKS - SORRY FOR THE INCONVENIENCE".

Now this is a situation that may require police intervention although if it were my business, I would be man enough to escort the jerk off the premises.

Remember, REAL men take care of their own problems. Wussies have to call in government agents........

What works in your head or in your basement does not necessarily work in the real world.

I've been following WalMart concerning their 'calling the cops for every little thing' issue for quite some time. I notice many other retailers some how manage to get through an eight to twelve hour business days WITHOUT police intervention. Perhaps these other retailers know how to manage their customers without police intervention? I dunno, but it sure keeps everyone's blood pressure a LOT LOWER.....

I was at the local Wal-Mart a few weeks ago. They had a youngish 20 something year old cop standing near the front door. Every five minutes or so, he would go over to the self check out area and stand two to three feet from customers and peer over their shoulder as they scanned their items. It made people noticably nervous as he stood there, gun strapped on his hip watching every little thing they were doing......

Was he trying to steal their credit card info? Or, did he merely enjoy making them uncomfortable? Who knows? Either way, his behavior was FRIGGIN' WEIRD.......

Wal-Mart, unlike other retailers, appears to have NO problem calling the police on you and your family and having you carted IMMEDIATELY to jail for further processing.......
