BMW M1 for sale.

Always thought this and the 8 series coupe were some of the nicest cars. Saw this M1 for sale.

The history of these cars is pretty nuts, originally build by Lamborghini (prototypes) and then "stolen" back by BMW after Lamborghini went bankrupt.

Never heard that one. All I know is if I have $700k siting around I'd buy it and I would drive the heck out of it. I would try and source a set of OEM wheels. I like BBS wheels but they do not fit this car in my opinion.

Lovely car! I wanted one twelve years ago before I sold my GT 250. It was worth more than the 250 then IIRC, but now they are worth about the same.

It is a tube frame car much like the old Ferraris were.

There were three different versions. 250 hp, 400hp and I think 600 hp or 800 hp. Also, It was a BMW design, that they contracted the Lamborghini. Always wanted one. I think they were $100K a few years back. Then jumped to $400K.

Yes.

I think Ghia may have been the original constructor but (whoever it was) they went out of business before starting the contract for the production car.

I deleted the posting because I was afraid it might make the oil guy seem, well, not that smart.

Actually billionaires tend to be rather laid back about such things. To us this would represent a serious loss. For him it might have been a day's pay.

They don't sweat the small stuff.
