You nailed it right there! Engaging my Corvette from a dead stop in 1st gear is what I live for. I take the feeder/access road to and from my health club 4 miles away from my home, so that I can shift more. The C7 M7 also has Rev Match which negates the need to heel-toe when driving - especially for the hot rodders. It's simply the best Corvette ever made. I loved my new 1977 C3 L82 I bought in 1976. It was a great car, but it was the A3 turbohydramatic transmission. Not all that fun to drive, but a beautiful car.
