Post Dishwater Mix ?

We have a double kitchen sink and one side is always full of soapy water so whenever anyone uses anything they're supposed to wash it straightaway .

SWMBO has taught me to add a tablespoon of CLOROX bleach to it every time I change the dishwater, I wonder what mixes others here use ? .

Do you mean to add Clorox to the dishwasher? I put a bit on a sponge in the dishwasher when I run it-keeps it fresher between loads.

Post dishWATER Mix

No ;

We're old and stuck in our ways, the brandy new automatic dishwasher they installed after the house fire ruined the last one, is also unused, I asked SWMBO the first time why install a dishwasher we'd never use, you know how that went...

Anyway, I keep the left side of the sink full of soapy water and add a tablespoon of bleach to it .

Interesting.
1) I agree that bleach cleans things...well. My wife uses it when we are camping (to do dishes...in plastic tubs)

2) If I remember materials class correctly - Stainless steel piping will hold up to most industrial fluids.....except bleach
Im guessing that the small amounts and dilute nature are not eating away at peoples' sinks enough to make a difference.

Post Bleach

I assume it's for disinfecting ~ when I were a wee lad many moons ago living in the country our water mostly came from the nearby lake, we cycled it through a big tank/pump thing that chlorinated it & we had to add a few gallons of bleach now and then .

We've had stainless steel sinks in SWMBO's house and no corrosion / staining of any sort from the bleach so far .

The double sink in my house is the original 1923 white porcilain one, the porcilain is fairly porous now so not bright white any more, bleach, white vinegar, comet , ajax, bon ami etc. all fail to remove the rust stains .

If ever I win the lotto the kitchen is top on the list, other wise whom ever gets it (my grand daughter) when I die will have to deal with it, I told my son to just bull doze the entire crappy thing and begin anew .

Post Safe Water

.....There you go .

Way back when I spent time in Upstate New York @ Canindagua (? SP ?) Lake, we pumped the water directly out of the bottom of the lake and had to boil it daily for use in cooking and drinking .
