Got a PM from “Tommy1867”. Just joined today and not only does he have something I am looking for but two other forum members.

I wonder if these threads should be consolidated into a single "BEWARE: FORUM SCAMMERS" thread in the Diesel discussion section so it gets more attention. Try to keep other forum members who aren't aware of this crap from getting ripped off. The mods/host sure don't give a damn.

Can you give us a little more info? What were you asking for and what did he offer in the PM? What should we be looking for as spam? Not sure I have ever received one on this forum.

It's always the same sort of format. Some loser joins up, has very low post count, and always has a reply asking for you to email because "I have what you're looking for" or "So and so has what you're looking for, email them". Another dead giveaway - new poster, and they always have a "Tapatalk" signature.

The scammer just joined and he pinged at least 3 folks and coincidentally he has all the parts. This wasn’t restricted to W123. Now, the scammer disappeared

It’s almost like clockwork- post WTB and brand new forum member PMs with about the same message
