Looks like they tried to sell it on BAT and the bidding only got up to $6K. I'd read the comments over there. |

Boots cracked on the ball joints is a red flag that it needs a complete front suspension rebuild. Bargaining points in your favor. As mentioned above, no word about timing components being serviced. More bargaining points in your favor. With the stratospheric rise in values of the SEC's for whatever reason, if you can get him down low enough, it might be a decent buy. Expect to shell out some big bucks if you pay a shop to do the timing chain work and front suspension. If you do it all yourself, you're looking at ~$1500 in parts and considerable labor.

The rear self leveling valve on the sec is different from the one on the sedans. I am not sure what or why but they do have different part numbers.
They look and plumb up the same so I am not sure this would be something to worry about. What I am saying is: The sec is not the sel when it comes to the stuff under the car. This makes parts a bit more difficult to find but when has that stopped anyone from buying an older Mercedes? |

In my opinion, the best looking vehicle to hit the road. Although 13K, ahhh kind of steep when you know it will need $$$ to keep it on the road.

BAT comments need to be taken with a grain of salt. I think they are counter productive but that is their thing. The seller must not be very motivated to sell the car. The SEC is a sharp car. Pretty high mileage though.

Just my opinion but not a fan of the wheels on either-they don't do the car justice. Love the color on the 500.
