What To Do With The Bimmer.......

Well today I went driving around looking for parts cars. I found a few One for 300 dollars but it needs new main bearings Then driving down the road I see ///M5 on a e28 I slamed on the brakes and made the tires scream on the caravan Well it turns out it was a 528e (not even a 5 speed) but anyway there was this m5/528e and another 528e next to it i asked what the deal was on them and the guy told me both had bad trannys . they were using the M528e for parts on the other 528e but had abanded the project because of expense. I got the number for the owner talked to him and he will sell both for 1000 and I have to tow them away. Tempting but I don't have room for 3 cars.
Went to talk to the mech. about it and he told me he has a 84 533i that need a fuel pump and muffler because of sitting
the 533 is pretty nice inside red leather needs some driver seat work but thats no biggy. the engine is pretty crusty but the mechanic said it is a very good car and well taken care off. The for sale sign on it says 7k but the mechanic said he thinks he can get him down to 1,200 another plus it has 5 star BMW rims on it. Down side ugly green-teal color.
and there is still the option of turning my 528e's crank.
anyone have any feeling other than just get a Benz

5 speed 533i? never mind the teal color - just go get it. if you can get it down to 1200 you'll be way ahead if a fuel pump is all it really needs...

If I got it I would like to paint it black. i like black wit red leater. one thing that i noticed was the clutch pedal was all the way to the floor but I don't know what that means yet. I trust the mechanic and as for the exhaust I will look into a preformence exhaust if I get it

clutch could be anything. there was an article in R&T some time ago that did an extensive write up on the 80's 53x cars. if i recall correctly, the tranny's can go but you can get a rebuilt one for a couple of thou' from BMW . overall they were very enthusiastic about the car - i would be too...
