Do not throw out the old coffee maker
Gents - regular old Mr. Coffee 12 cup coffeemaker stopped delivering water to the gounds like it was stopped up. Wife said buy a new one - I like to tinker.
Removed the bottom and the two rubber feed hoses. Saw no impediment; all looked clear. Then noticed something in the middle of one hose. Pushed it out and it looks like a white plastic valve which might be stuck. Fiddled with it a bit and pushed it back in. Put the hoses back in and tried it out. Worked perfectly. Good flow of hot water into the grounds. So do not throw it put; just take a look inside and you may find the problem. |

I got my Mr Coffee at a garage sale 10 years ago-use it every day. Broke the carafe and found one for a buck at the thrift store. Tried a lot of different coffee and Starbucks Espresso Roast is my fav.

Not sure what that is. The Mr. Coffee pours/spreads hot water over the grounds and it drips through to the pot. Is yours something different? News to me.

I had a Keurig at one point and I could never get the coffee strong enough. I bought the most potent brew Amazon had to offer. I ended up cutting open the cups to get the coffee out and putting it in the trusty Mr Coffee. Last trip to the thrift store there were a dozen Keurigs there for $8 each. We had a Keurig at work but I put so many of the flavored creamer cups in it I never noticed.

Our water was so bad in the philly burbs that wed run through hose bibs, pipe joints, faucets and shower heads about once a year. Citric acid was a must, and works safely.

You could more easily schlepp on down to the diner where the waitress is, uh, horizontally enhanced and grab a nice cuppa there .
