Exclamation GM got caught fudging emissions data

To the tune of about 10%. That carbon had to come from somewhere, so they also got caught for fuel economy. So far it costs them hundreds of millions. What does the dealer say when everyone complains about MPG? Does the onboard computer fudge it by 10% as well?

The dealer would almost certainly scan all relevant systems for fault codes. If none are found the owner would be told that the vehicle is operating as designed. If the owner kicks up a fuss they would be encouraged to contact the manufacturers customer assistance center and voice their concern. If CAC gets enough complaints the issue will be looked into.

This is a good reason for manufacturers to go to EVs. They will never have to worry about emissions again.

Not entirely. Putz might still have some internal cabin air issues....
